* Let go of your assumptions about wine, especially the belief that wine is expensive. You can easily get a nice bottle of wine for under $10. As with cooking, the key to a good wine is all in balance, not necessarily the rarest wine.

* Have a good time! Test! According to experts, enjoying wine is about what you like, not what you should like. When you find a wine you like, just write down the winery and the variety. As you gain more experience with wine, you will be able to enter descriptions of the various elements in wine.
